Project description

Guessing is fun – making others guess is too!

In this project, the focus is on the guessing game. We want to collaboratively create exciting, country-related quizzes with questions and images for children and adolescents. Students are invited to design, create, and play country quizzes using the multiple-choice method. To support them in their research and subsequent selection of quiz questions, we provide age-appropriate input through various methods.

Core Idea

Children are curious and imaginative. They learn best through play and by using their own creativity. They enjoy quiz games and sharing their knowledge with others.

Who do we want to reach?

The project is aimed at children and adolescents in both the school and non-school settings. Our target audience is between 10 and 17 years old. We offer analog workshops at schools in Berlin – either as part of an extracurricular activity, a workshop day, or a workshop week.

What do we want?

Fundamentally, our task is to give children the opportunity to learn something playfully and without pressure – about themselves and other cultures. For this, we use the concept of Global Learning, allowing children and adolescents to recognize global connections and establish links between their lives locally and those in the Global South.

Through working on the quiz, we aim to help children and adolescents gain comparative knowledge about Africa, for example, by examining the countries of Cameroon and Germany and comparing the respective situations.

What are our main goals?

  1. Knowledge Gain: We provide information about similarities and differences in the lives of children and adolescents on different continents.
  2. Learning to use new media: Practice researching – finding interesting information, filtering out essential points, and assessing the accuracy of information.
  3. Instill joy in teaching others by mutually playing the quizzes.
  4. Promote the development of intercultural competence.
  5. Foster creativity – through the content and artistic creation of quizzes by children and adolescents.
  6. Encourage children and adolescents to actively participate in political processes for sustainable development.

How do we intend to achieve this?

Workshops with theoretical input and research tasks within global learning form our pedagogical concept. The quiz takes center stage – children and adolescents create something concrete that they can show others. In this context, they act as experts.

Our educational offering is an entertaining and informative complement to the school curriculum. In a playful manner, we aim to raise awareness that there are culturally different conditions for life in human communities – such as climate, history, or access to energy. Through research and quiz creation, we aim to achieve sustainable knowledge growth. This ensures joy in learning without pressure and provides unlimited space for imagination.
