Stadtteil- Medienwerkstatt
Continuing the neighborhood media workshop is important because it not only improves participants’ media literacy but also fosters their personal development. Especially at a time when digital skills are becoming increasingly important, young people need places where they can learn and try out these skills.
Achievements:
- Creative Module:
- Young people learned creative techniques such as 3D printing and airbrushing, which they used to carry out individual projects.
- Energy Module:
- Here, the focus was on sustainability. Participants built solar charging stations and learned how to reuse old smartphone parts.
- How to Be an Influencer Module:
- The young people critically examined social media and created their own content.
- Organization Module:
- In this module, they developed organizational skills by independently planning and carrying out events.
Goals and Measures for the Next Project Phase
To ensure that the Neighborhood Media Workshop continues to successfully empower children and young people in the future, we are pursuing clear goals. These include helping young people further develop their media literacy while learning to use digital tools responsibly.
Deepening digital and social skills
One of the main focuses will be on helping participants further develop their skills in video production, photo editing, and 3D printing. At the same time, they will strengthen their teamwork skills through collaborative projects.
Expanding the Ambassador Program
Experienced participants are encouraged to share their knowledge with newcomers. This creates a dynamic learning process that involves everyone.
Planned activities:
- Regular workshops:
- Weekly workshops are held on topics such as photo editing, video production, and sustainable technology.
- Community events:
- The young people present their projects at events, thereby boosting their self-confidence.
- Promoting inclusion:
- Special programs ensure that young people with disabilities can also actively participate.
Active Involvement of Young People
A key feature of the project is that young people are actively involved in its implementation. This means they are not only able to participate in the workshops, but also contribute ideas and organize their own events. Their feedback is regularly solicited to ensure that the program always aligns with their interests.
Conclusion: A successful project with a promising future
The neighborhood media workshop aimed at empowering children and young people has demonstrated the importance of creative and media education programs. To ensure that even more young people can benefit from this project, its continuation is essential.
